What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring ingredient found in both industrial hemp and cannabis sativa. It's a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive.
We suggest you do your own research on CBD and cannabinoids too.
What’s the difference between full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD?
It’s easy to get very confused with all different CBD options to choose from. We’ll aim to bring clarity here for you:
Full- Spectrum CBD means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come with a negligible THC content- below 0.3%.
Although non-psychoactive, full-spectrum CBD can give you a false positive during a drug test, especially if you consume high doses of CBD oil daily.
That’s when the broad-spectrum CBD comes in.
Broad- spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant, except for THC, which is completely removed after the initial extraction.
In a very simplified manner, broad-spectrum provides all the benefits of the entire spectrum of cannabinoids except for the fact that it contains zero THC.
Will CBD get me high?
No – The Cannabis plant is made up of two main components: CBD and THC. CBD is the non-psychoactive part of the plant which will not give you any effects of euphoria nor will it get you ‘high’.
Is there a difference between hemp and cannabis and marijuana?
You may have heard the terms cannabis, marijuana, and hemp all thrown in the mix when talking about CBD. The plant Cannabis sativa has two main species, hemp and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there's a much higher percentage in hemp, which also has very low (less than 0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana.
Is CBD Legal?
Yes – Under UK law, it is legal to sell CBD oil products; however, they must contain no more than 0.2% THC. Any product that contains more than 0.2% THC is deemed illegal and is considered to be a cannabis product and a class B drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Will I pass a drugs test?
We use broad spectrum CBD, containing 0% THC. Our products are tested at the facility and third party confirmed to contain 0% THC. It’s important to ensure that you are buying a third party tested CBD product and understand the difference between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum.
How do I know how much CBD to take?
The amount of CBD you should take depends on a range of factors, including:
your body weightthe condition you’re treatingyour individual body chemistrythe concentration of CBD in each pill, capsule, drop, or gummy
Start with a small dosage of CBD and increase slowly until you reach your desired effect. Your ideal dosage of CBD depends on a lot of factors and the concentration of CBD you’re using and your desired effect.
If you are currently taking medication, it is wise to consult your doctor before using CBD.
Is it safe to drive on CBD?
Legally speaking, it is fine to use CBD before driving as it is not classed and a classified substance and doesn’t contain above the legal THC limit of 0.2% however, you should evaluate your mental state and how you feel after taking CBD. You might feel relaxed or drowsy which can impair your ability to drive.
Always test CBD in a safe environment to understand your reactions before driving.
